TABLES

An Excel tables simply your data listed in a range. Think of row one as company name in one column, address in the second column and so on. Here’s an sample table which is more-or-less self explanatory.


This is simply a range in a structured format. You may also think of it as a list (in structured format). Today “official name” is tables. But there’s much more. A table has many Excel features built in. What this is mean that range as noted above is just that, a range or list of data. But the next step is to convert the range to an “official” table. This activate an entire new set of Excel features.  For now, simple place the Excel cursor anywhere in the range and press Ctrl-T. Note range now has the traditional filter arrows in the first row.
